Pakistan U-19 vs Afghanistan U-19 - World Cup

ICC Under 19 World Cup - Pakistan vs Afghanistan

The world cup started today, with Pakistan's first game against Afghanistan. Pakistan batted first and score 253 runs at loss of 6 wickets. From Pakistan, the captain Babar Azam batted extremely well to score his 75 runs. Later in the innings, Muhammad Nawaz played a quick knock of 66 runs off just 50 deliveries to help Pakistan to a defend-able total.

Afghanistan started out well, scoring at a good run rate. But soon they started to lose wickets. Zia-ul-Haq bowled superbly to pick up 4 wickets. He finished the tail off quickly to end with figures of 30/4 in 8.1 overs. Umar Waheed also bowled well and picked up two wickets. Usman Qadir, son of a legend, Abdul Qadir, bowled well - he picked up only 1 wicket in his 7 overs but conceded only 19 runs.

From Afghanistan, there were some good batting contributions - one significant one was from Hashmatullah Shaidi, who scored 50 runs off 77 balls, before falling to Usman Qadir's leg spin. Mojibullah Paak also batted well for his 30. However, Afghanistan team was bowled out for 144. Pakistan U-19 won the match by 109 runs.

This is a good start to Pakistan's Under 19 campaign in the world cup. They will be looking to continue the good performance against top class teams also. Whereas, Afghanistan U-19 will look to improve on their mistakes.

Enjoy!
